Treatment involves:
The first session is booked to gather background information and understand the specific areas of concern. This usually involves a comprehensive clinical interview and may include some questionnaires. With your consent, we may collect information from other sources (e.g., a family member or family physician). During this session, we will discuss all available treatment options available from us or through a different healthcare provider (if that is better suited to your needs). We will then collaboratively create a treatment plan including psychoeducation about your concerns, treatment goals, length and frequency of sessions, and best therapeutic approach.
The length of each session is approximately 1 hour unless otherwise discussed. For children and adolescents, sessions may be divided to spend a portion of the time with the parent/guardian and the remaining time with the child/adolescent. This will be discussed during the intake session and throughout the treatment process.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with specific questions you have about the treatment process.
